The Stalwart on the left with the cargo cover in place is a Mark 1. The Stalwart on the right with open cargo area is a Mark 2. Since the vehicles look alike until you get to know them....the easiest way to tell the difference is that the front corner and side widows are different. Note the larger dropped down look that the Mark 2 has compared to the square smaller windows on the Mark 1.
Below is a picture of the cargo area. The cargo area can hold 30 men. The floor boards come up to reveal the engine area.

Any rain water or other drains down into the engine compartment and is either sucked out by the bilge pump or if on road, drains out though the plugs or plates that have been opened for such.
Below the floor boards have been opened to give access to the engine compartment.
