SHORLAND

Armored Patrol Car...Mark 111

The Shorland Armored Patrol Car in one of the easiest to drive.

Below you will notice the appendage sticking out from the rear...this is where the gas tank is.  Note the square little door on the rear.  This is the ventilation fan which is also on a hinged door so the crew can use it for air or firing port.

Below is an interior view that show the driver and passenger seats and standard gear shift.   Note the right picture shows the brake and clutch as it has a standard transmission unlike the pre-select type system in some of the other British vehicles.

Right picture:  note also the two yellow handles residing between the windshields.   These are the hatch levers that raise and lower the front armored periscope shields.

Below:  The seat in these two pictures is the same seat at different points of view.  It sits directly behind the passenger seat.

Above:  Note the amount of room over the wheel well...you can put up to 6 people if needed.   The picture at right above is taken thru the turret.   Note the cradle (upper right hand corner) for the Browning Machine Gun.

Above Left:  Note the battery behind the driver.  Picture right:  The gunners seat (in center) to operate the turret.
